YOU DECIDE! Brian Jones

Brian Jones was a rock star but he only lived until the age of 29. His demise has always been a deep matter of confusion to fans  Would knowing his Day Ray shed some light on his cause of the death? Maybe, but first we have to figure out the day of the week in which he was born and link it to the nature of his life.

It must have been quite disturbing for Brian Jones, a founding member of the Rolling Stones, to be thrown out of the band.  One month later he was found dead in his own swimming pool.  Questions have risen not only as to the cause of his death, but the nature of his life. Perhaps the motives of Brian Jones can be best summed up in the remarks by one of the Rolling Stones. According to Bill Wyman, “He formed the band. He chose the members.  He named the band. He chose the music we played. He got us gigs. … he was very influential, very important, and then slowly lost it – highly intelligent – and just kind of wasted it and blew it all away.”

“Nothing comes out of the blue.” ~ Sigmund Freud

How did such talented individual end up dead at such a young age? At that time there was a rash of premature deaths among popular rock musicians. Most of them died from hard living, rather than  accidents. The postmortem examination of Brian Jones was judged “drowning by immersion in fresh water associated with severe liver dysfunction’ caused by fatty degeneration and ingestion of alcohol and drugs.” According to the pathologist traces of pep pills, sleeping tablets and alcohol were found in his bloodstream. His girlfriend, Anna Wohlin, offered the fact that lately Jones had been using an asthma inhaler. “Brian used it automatically and particularly when he was in the pool and having difficulties in breathing.”  Officially the  demise of this rock star was labeled “death by misadventure.” This term indicates a death caused by “a dangerous risk.

It is said that there is no such thing as an accident. Most often the surprises that appear in our lives are absolutely predictable if our situations were to be carefully examined. And it also makes sense that unexpected events can be caused by our unconscious desires. Maybe we do unconsciously invite wonderful and terrible experiences into our lives. Was the death of Brian Jones a freak accident or an answer to his prayers? Who knows?

Which of these two dates was the birthday of Brian Jones?

#84 SAT PIS – 2/28/1942
#12 SUN PIS – 2/28/1943

According to biographical sources Brian Jones was born on one of these two dates. If Brian Jones was born on a Sunday, his decisions to use  “substances” were to feel good or to promote his self image.  If he was born on Saturday, he was trying to cope with difficult situations. He may have wanted to escape from his ever deepening problems.

Saturday is the correct answer according to Wikipedia, even though many other sites do not agree.  Another fact helps us in our decision. Brian Jones had a younger sister, Pamela, who was born on October 3, 1943.  She was not his twin, so Jones had to be born in 1942 not 1943.
