it’s been a quarter of a century since F.R.I.E.N.D.S. was introduced to American viewers. This weekly sit-com was widely watched for its ten year run. And it’s still appearing as reruns. There was something quite different about this series. Most TV comedies follow the same 30 minute plot construct and graduated financial compensation. In contrast F.R.I.E.N.D.S. had an ensemble cast. Each major player was assigned equal amount of screen time with identical salaries. The result was an incredibly close cast because there was no reason for rivalries.
Just to refresh our memories, the plot of the series is generally described as six twenty-something-year-old friends, three women, and three men, trying to figure out life while living in New York City. It’s pretty simple “coming of age” stuff but each week something interesting was revealed about the characters and over time some romantic interactions developed. The show ended as the “friends” took on adult roles and began to go their own ways
A recent Showbiz Cheatsheet article summed up the outstanding qualities of the six main characters as follows: Chandler (Matthew Perry) is the funny one, Ross (David Schwimmer) the nerd, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) the stud, Monica (Courtney Cox), the neat freak, Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) the free-spirited one, and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) the fashionista. Deeper and more detailed profiles of these characters and their quirks are available on Screenrant.
Our particular interest in this series are not the characters but the six primary actors who played these parts. We’d like to see if how their Dayology signatures. match up to their profiles. It is often wondered how much of an actor’s nature is brought to the roles that they play.
#35 TUE AQU 2/11/1969 Jennifer Aniston | #15 MON GEM 6/15/1964 Courteney Cox |
#29 TUE LEO 7/30/1963 Lisa Kudrow | #29 TUE LEO 8/19/1969 Matthew Perry |
#29 TUE LEO 7/25/1967 Matt LeBlanc | #44 WED SCO 11/2/1966 David Schwimmer |
The primary cast of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. was composed of six relatively unknown actors. Actually the show was the big break of their careers. Oddly there is not as much variety in their Dayology energies as might be expected for a group of six people of any profession or interest. Another ways of putting it there is an odd emphasis of the MARS particular planetary energy.
Yes, Mars is a very strong energy ruler in this planetary line-up. And half of these individuals have the exactly the same Dayology signature. That means that the three, Lisa Kundrow, Matt LaBlanc and Matthew Perry, were were all born on Tuesday in Leo and express that energetic, fun-loving, self-expressive signature #29 TUE LEO Signature . Jennifer Aniston is also born on Tuesday but in Aquarius She is also energetic but her motivations cause her to question things more.
Another factor which contributes to the natural casting of the show is Mercury energy in the OUTER Self of Courteney Cox and the INNER Self of David Schwimmer. In the script they are brother and sister, Both have a tendency to be anxious and to think things over in contrast to the Mars nature of the rest of the cast. She is a bit scattered and he is a bit hard on himself.
It has not been determined WHY repetitions of similar planetary energies occur so often in relationships, but it does. These “coincidences” are not caught unless the energies of birth dates are carefully examined. To understand what it all means may require the use of the intuition.
And a little bit extra!
#29 TUE LEO 8/13/1957 David Crane |
#66 FRI VIR 9/21/1956 Marta Kauffman | #20 MON SCO 11/15/1954 Kevin Bright |
The mystery as to why there are three actors with the same Dayology signature in the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. cast is solved. David Crane, one of the two creators of the series, obviously appreciated the dynamics of the #29 TUE LEO signature because it was his own He is reported to be an upbeat guy, and no doubt encouraged everyone to be as warm and funny as possible.
As a team Marta Kauffman and David Crane have been longtime friends and professionally they were well matched. Kauffman’s Virgo took care of details while Crane’s Leo pushed for the viewer experience. Their Tuesday and Friday INNER Selves shared a love for what they were doing and all the ways they were doing it. The INNER rulers – Mars and Venus – simply love working together.
The behind the scenes influence of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. executive director Kevin Bright can not be underestimated. The Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions was formed as the concept for the series was being developed. . Bright was born on a Monday in the zodiac sign of Scorpio. His #20 MON SCO Dayology Signature gives him a subtle but deep effect in all that he undertakes. Scorpio, is ruled by Mars, you might recall is the predominant energy of this particular series.
