Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have agreed to give up their titles and state funded income so that they can “step back” from their roles as “working” members of the royal family.
Buckingham Palace announced that as royals Harry and Meghan may call themselves Prince and Duchess of Sussex, but they can no longer use the titles of His and Her Royal Highness. From now on the two of them cannot expect to receive public funds for official appearances or duties. The couple will also repay the Sovereign Grant funds they recently spent to renovate their official residence, Frogmore Cottage. That amounts to about $3 million.
Originally the couple offered to split their time between with the United Kingdom and North America. Now it appears they will reside in Canada, perhaps work in the U.S.A. and make their occasional visits back to England. The icing on the bon-voyage cake is that the Queen no longer has her objections to the union. “My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. the queen said in the latest statement put out by Buckingham Palace. “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family,”
This last year has not been an easy time for this pair. Not only were Harry and Meghan newly-weds and pregnant with their first child, but they had to deal with the demands of the Royal Family reorganization and contend with the hounding of a particular element of the British population. Already there are discussions that the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan from the British social scene could mean a loss of billions of pounds to the country’s economy.

The dynamics of this royal relationship were analysed in two previous features, When Harry met Meghan and Baby Makes Three. The general conclusion was that their personal attraction comes from the strong differences in their signatures. Meghan’s INNER Mars ruler warms Harry’s serious emotional nature. Harry’s Saturn INNER ruler adds ballast to Meghan’s active life. It isn’t the easiest set of planetary dynamics, but it will work as long as they work it.
Queen Elizabeth was born on a Wednesday in the sign of Taurus. Her INNER ruler is Mercury giving her a liking for stability and accountability. She has demanded that the couple slow down and consider the implications of their actions. It is a typical behavior for an individual born Wednesday to be exceptionally careful about procedures and small details.
Actually Prince Harry and his grandmother share a strong and beneficial Earth connection. Their Sun Signs, Virgo and Taurus would certainly be able to discuss the practicalities of any situation. Harry possesses great common sense regarding the reforms needed by the country and the Queen oversees matters. Virgo works for perfection and Taurus tends to be very basic.
It is quite a different story for Meghan Markle. The Queen’s Taurus and Meghan’s Leo OUTER Selves are different elements and both quite fixed. UPDATE – Harry and Megan spent sometime in Canada, but they ended up in California. For a time they resided in one of the homes of comedian and actor Tyler Perry, with whom it is reported that the couple never met. According to QUORA Perry is just as much of a philanthropist in USA, as Harry was in Great Britain. Oddly Harry and Tyler share the #78 SAT VIR Dayology signature.
UPDATE – In time Harry and Megan bought a home in Santa Barbara, California and added a second child to their family. Their daughter Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor was born on On June 4, 2021, The couple announced their decision to limit their family to four.
