The newest White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany promised the nation,
‘I will never lie to you.” at her first public appearance. A bit later this statement was followed up by a Chris Cuomo in a CNN interview. He asked her if Donald Trump ever misrepresented the truth. Cuomo backed up his question siting that Fact Checker has caught the President making 1200 false or misleading claims since he was sworn into office. Her reply was:
“He doesn’t lie,” McEnany insisted.
“Guess who lies? The press lies.”
“I’m going to ask you this one more
time,” Cuomo said. “Kayleigh McEnany,
do you believe this president has ever
lied to the American people?”
“No,” McEnany said. “I don’t believe
the president has lied.” She tried
turning the tables on the host,
“Do you believe the fake news media
has lied?” Cuomo took the occasion
to confront her directly “if you can’t
admit that he lies, the people are
never going to believe you
about anything,”
McEnany was not deterred. She
attacked him personally “I think
you should take a look in the
mirror, Chris,” she said.
“I do. And I don’t like these lines,”
he said referring to his face.
“But I do like that I don’t lie to
my audience every damn
chance I get.”
McEnany is following a well-established pattern. The issue of falsehoods came up early on in Trump’s presidential campaign. He has assured his followers “I will never lie to you.” and excused his behavior as “Sometimes, in the heat of debate, and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that, and believe it or not I regret it,” Trump has developed the bad habit of saying “anything” and McEnany does the same.

Kayleigh McEnany was born on a Monday in the zodiac sign of Aries. This makes the Moon the ruler of her INNER Self and Mars the ruler of her OUTER Self. This combination of energies is emotional and impulsive. It makes for a very motivated and strong opinionated individual. The exact nature of this influence can only be determined by the character of the individual.
The #13 MON ARI Signature is ready to try anything. It faces adversity boldly, but not always wisely. It is with her INNER Moon that McEnany identifies through her first impressions and then it is through her OUTER Mars that she acts. She thoroughly believes in whatever she is doing is correct. McEnany has a certain vitality but she is in danger of burning herself up.
McEnany is young to hold such a prestigious position. No doubt her personal style has served her well, but it is her contentious nature that appeals most to her current boss, Donald Trump. Kayleigh is married with a has a five-month old daughter. Her husband, Sean Gilmartin is a professional baseball player, Tampa is her home but she works in the nation’s capitol.
McEnany grew up in Florida where she attended a private Catholic school for girls. She received a degree in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. While in law school she appeared as a paid commentator on CNN. Not initially a Trump supporter, she labeled him an “inauthentic Republican.” Her impression changed as his name rose in the polls.
In 2017 the RNC appointed McEnany as it’s national spokesperson. She supported her party’s candidate, Donald Trump, regardless of how socially insensitive and politically reprehensible he he came across. For instance, she defended Trump’s claim that the white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia were fine people as a “message of love and inclusiveness.”
Another CNN political commentator, Van Jones has more than noticed McEnany’s “special quality”. In the New York Times, he wrote , “I’m not trying to defend the messaging, but what I hope people can acknowledge is there’s very few people in either party who can accomplish what Kayleigh has accomplished in such a short time… People keep taking her lightly, and they keep regretting it.” Just remember, we can’t say that we weren’t warned.
