Apologies to the Princess

Last night the host of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert admitted in his opening monolog that as a comedian many of his jokes have probably upset people who didn’t deserve being ridiculed. With some remorse he added that Kate Middleton was one of them.

A while back Colbert callously commented on the rumor of an alleged affair between Prince William and Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. The joke went that when  Kate confronted her husband, he allegedly laughed it off, saying there was nothing to it, Colbert quipped, “Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating.” Whether the accusation was true or not, it is forgotten the Middleton was the one who was hurt.

Colbert is feeling some remorse now that the poor health of the Princess of Wales has become a topic of conversation  “A lot of my jokes have upset people in the past, and I’m sure some of my jokes will upset people in the future,” he conceded. “But there’s a standard that I try to hold myself to, and that is: I do not make light of somebody else’s tragedy…. Far too many of us know that any cancer diagnosis of any kind is harrowing for the patient and for their family.”

Yes, it is true that the Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery and is now recovering. We are told that she had cancer and is undergoing preventive chemotherapy. And we are absolutely “in the dark” as to type of cancer that she experienced or the extent to which it had progressed. So what if Kate choses not to share information with the world? It is her choice to decide how she wants to face her problems and chose her options. What business it is of ours?

Actually most of the world owes the Princess an apology for not respecting her privacy, and tearing into her like a “piece of meat.” When her character is actually considered, she cannot be faulted for much. She has always been a respectful wife, a loving mother, and a gracious royal. So what if she “doctored” elements of the photo with her kids to create a “better” image?

Middleton

Kate Middleton was born on a Saturday in the zodiac sign of Capricorn, making. Saturn the ruler of both her INNER and OUTER Selves. Those born with the #82 Dayology Signature are generally serious concerning their responsibilities. They are absolutely capable of enjoying all the earthly pleasures, but only after all their work is finished do they feel comfortable relaxing.

Middleton has one of those rare people whose Dayology Signature has but one ruler for her INNER and OUTER Selves. Saturn rules the Saturday Day Ray and the Capricorn Sun Sign. This this means that she behaves in a manner expressed by the saying “What you see is what you get.” She is highly attentive and responsible. Unfortunately she is rougher on herself than she really has to be and she takes adversity harder than she would want it known.

The Princess was born a commoner, although she attended good schools. She and Prince William met at St. Andrews University in Scotland. The story goes that William was won over after seeing Kate model a sheer dress at a charity fashion show. Shortly they were sharing a flat with two other students. Then with some time apart, William contemplated whether Kate could handle the pressures of the crown after seeing how his mother, Diana, was destroyed by her position.

Love must have won out because William proposed to Kate while on a trip to Kenya and they have been doing well. While raising a family with three children, the Princess has managed to oversee her charities and make regular appearances. William attends to his royal duties at the behalf of his father, King Charles. If all proceeds as expected William will someday become the King of England and Kate will reign as his Queen. When the time comes, it is thought that she will behave no differently then as she does today – correctly, conscientiously, and concerned.
