That Other Rally!

A week ago it was announced that Madison Square Garden will be the venue for the most significant rally in Donald Trump’s current run for the presidency. This event takes place on Sunday, October 27th, nine days before the USA Election Day on November 5th.

Madison Square Garden is situated in New York City and is known primarily for its professional sports and entertainment events. It has a capacity of seating more than 19,500 people, still these tickets are often difficult to obtain. In this instance free seating will be “first come, first serve.” Trump boasts “I’m gonna fill the Garden,” expecting his “crowd size” to be “tremendous.” Still Trump is taking a really big chance because he may not draw enough supporters to fill the space. Purposely taking advantage of this situation George Conway and Rick Wilson, two founders of The Lincoln Project have suggested that people register and deliberately not show up.

This rally is a “last minute” decision that makes no sense. Political experts are quick to remind us that Trump lost New York by more than 20 points in the previous two presidential elections and “he’s probably due for another thumping.” This leads us to believe that this upcoming rally is being organized for another reason entirely. James Carville, a Democratic strategist, point outs that this rally dangerously resembles a historic gathering held at Madison Square Garden in 1939. That event featured Fritz Julius Kuhn, the leader of the German American Bund, who addressed a pro-Hitler audience and drew an anti-Hitler crowd of over 100,000 angry protestors.

Honestly no matter what Trump says at his 2024 rally or who he invites to speak with him, there is no way Kuhn‘s outrageous gathering eighty-four years ago can be topped. It has the clearest intent of supporting American fascism there could ever be. Donald Trump is but a puppet being used to entertain and control those who can be persuaded to give up their personal freedoms in exchange for a distracting moment or two. The question is who is pulling Trump’s strings?

New York State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal denounces the former president’s plans. “This is a disastrous decision by Madison Square Garden that will endanger the public safety of New Yorkers and has the potential to incite widespread violence.” The stadium is located in his political district, so he has a right to ask that the event be cancelled, a request not likely to be fulfilled. And as would be expected the Trump campaign has accused Hoylman-Sigal of falling into “trump derangement syndrome” and wanting “to deny Trump and his supporters of their First Amendment rights to free speech and free assembly because he disagrees with them.”

“This is the same type of dangerous rhetoric that led to two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life and has divided our country,” warns Trump’s campaign national press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. Her programmed reply may actually risk the safety of her boss. There may be others out there armed with guns who can’t handle this “hot” political rhetoric. Still if anything truly endangers Trump’s life, it is his own personal theatrics. “When they go after me, they are going after you!” shows that his intent is to “trigger” the insecurities of his followers.

It is also Kelly’s opinion that if reelected that Trump would” govern as a dictator”, just as he says.

No doubt the results of the 2024 presidential election will end up being disturbing to a large part of the population. We are facing an inflection point, a mathematical term that is currently being used to describe an irrevocable change in direction. Regardless of which political party wins, big social changes are being planned to take place right in front of our faces.
