Buzzards on a Fence

That’s the expression that Jasmine Crockett used to describe the U.S. House and Senate Republicans who, in her view, are complicit in enabling Donald Trump’s destructive agenda. She argued that these lawmakers aren’t just passive observers—they are circling opportunists.

To be exact she said “They’re like buzzards on a fence, just waiting to see what happens, circling around, hoping to benefit from the chaos.” This metaphor was directed at the House and Senate Republicans whom she accused of enabling Donald Trump—not through direct action, but through strategic silence. She prefaced the remark by criticizing their refusal to hold President Trump accountable, framing their behavior as opportunistic and morally evasive.

This remark was made during a televised appearance on Tuesday, July 1st of this year. Crocket’s use of the “buzzards” metaphor evokes the feelings of opportunism and a lack of moral courage. She argued that these lawmakers weren’t just passive—they were deliberately quiet, hoping to benefit from disruption without taking responsibility for it. The image of buzzards perched and circling suggests a kind of political scavenging, waiting for vulnerability or collapse to exploit.
The remark may not win her new friends in Congress, but it clearly states her position.

To be accurate Crockett is not the only member of Congress with these feelings, but she is one of the few to express them so vividly. Her impulsive expression comes from her individual nature – which from Dayology’s outlook – stems from being born on a Sunday in the sign of Aries. Both her Day Ray and her Sun Sign tend get hot and bothered when they they are left out of the picture or witness power abused. Her situation was greatly intensified by the fact that it was Tuesday, when Mars – the worker or troublemaker – is at its height of influence.

And to be even more accurate, Crockett’s pointed remark will not likely change the outlooks of those she so sharply criticized. It may make them more defensive and more deeply entrenched. Crockett is one smart cookie, but she still has things to learn about political negotiation. And she could take a cue Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, who has her share of Mars in her #25 TUE ARI Dayology Signature. Pelosi always knew exactly where the vote stood and didn’t speak out until she knew that she could win. Crocket has yet to earn this skill.

Nancy Pelosi was born on a Tuesday in Aries. Mars rules her INNER and OUTER Selves. She is daring and bold, and consequently loved or hated, depending upon if you are with her or against her. She has represented California’s 11th congressional district since 1987, and served as the speaker of the House of Representatives for two terms. Raised in a tightly knit Baltimore political family, Pelosi’s early life was steeped in civic duty and relentless strategic thinking.

Jasmine Crockett was born on a Sunday and in the zodiac sign of Aries. The Sun rules her INNER Self and Mars governs her OUTER Self. Those with this Day Ray and Sun Sign combination are known for their sharp instincts, unapologetic candor, and a natural drive to confront imbalance wherever they find it. Born in Dallas to a preacher father and postal worker mother, Crockett’s early life was shaped by both spiritual grounding and working-class resolve.

Both of these formidable women were born with the dynamic Aries Sun Sign, but their Day Rays differ, because they came into this world on Tuesday and Sunday, That distinction matters. It shapes not just how they act, but how they understand their individual places in the world. Pelosi carries the imprint of Mars: steady, relentless, and driven by purpose. Crockett works hard too, but her Sun ruled Day Ray while Crockett works hard too, but she also seeks recognition. She doesn’t just move through the world, she want’s to be seem and she shines.

Like great birds in the sky, these two women scan the horizon with fierce intent—but what they seek is not the same. One is just entering the picture, the other is preparing to exit. Pelosi is an experienced flyer; Crockett is just trying out her wings. Pelosi circles for strategy and impact; Crockett rises for visibility and voice. Both are Aries, but their Day Rays shape how they soar. Is it fair to compare them? It’s fair – so long as we’re comparing flight paths, not personal worth.
