How did actor Zac Efron give such a good performance of murderer Ted Bundy? is a certain way the two of them were remarkably similar.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is the name of the biographical crime thriller to be released by Net Flicks in early May. The original project was unveiled at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Both venues received mixed reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 63% plus the remarks “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile often transcends its narrative limitations through sheer force of Zac Efron’s compulsively watchable performance.”
So what are we to expect? This film is the hideous but compelling story of Ted Bundy as seen through the eyes of his girl friend, not his wife or female victims. The matter of killing at least thirty women is practically inconceivable to the average person. The draw to these crime films is the thrill of sharing in the kill without having to pay the price for crossing the line.
This genre is not for everyone. To test your ability to handle the dark side, there is a short promotional video about the film. As a Dayologist I found myself more interested in how Bundy and Efron used (or misused) their Day Rays and Sun Signs. Bundy operated from his own motivations and so his evil is all on him. Efron must have unearthed deep feelings in order to play the part and we wonder how he handled them.
