The January 6th Insurrection Public Hearings have finished up for the summer. We are told that they will resume in September with even more information about one of the most disturbing events in American history.
The last of this series of official enquiries was held last Thursday and focused upon President Trump’s “complete dereliction of duty” as he refused to call off the mob attacking the capitol. For 187 minutes Trump hid out in a space adjoining the Oval Office called the President’s Dining room. The question is not so much what the leader of our nation actually did or did not do during this period of time, but the effects of his cowardly and treasonous behavior.

At the “Stop the Steal” rally President Trump directed his followers to the Capitol, promising to walk with them. Instead he returned to the White House by his secret service detail. Was it his dream to storm into the electoral count proceedings, like the painting of the French Revolution by Eugene Delecroix?

Of course, Trump realized that his directives to shut down the government by violence were absolutely illegal, but he did not care about the consequences. Five people died in connection with the riots that day. Approximately 140 officers suffered serious injuries attempting to protect the U.S. lawmakers from bodily harm.

The U.S. President and Vice President are chosen by “electors” through a procedure called the Electoral College. Trump directed vice-president, Mike Pence, to subvert the process and overturn the 2020 election. The refusal by Pence angered the crowds and caused them to pursue him throughout the halls of the Capitol.

The Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol was established by the members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Its purpose is to collect relevant information regarding this particular event. After the investigation and recommendation phases, a thorough report is published on its findings.

The question on many minds is why Donald Trump and his conspirators have not had their day in court. In the USA it is a crime to “advocate overthrowing the government.” Trump remained true to his “cunning intentions” throughout the entire 187 minutes of the Capitol attack and still affirms the “stealing of the election” today.

In the final analysis it will be the U.S. Justice Department that decides if Donald Trump is to be tried for the crimes that he may have committed related to the January 6th Insurrection. This federal executive arm of the U.S. Government is headed by Attorney General, Merrick Garland who is charge and control of the whole process.

Merrick Garland was born on a Thursday in the zodiac sign of Scorpio. Jupiter is the ruler of his INNER SELF and Mars governs his OUTER SELF. Individuals with the #56 Dayology signature are complex individuals who appear to be pleasant on the surface, but operate at deeper levels. These folks understand how things work and can easily spot any sort of misfunctioning.
Garland is 86th United States attorney general and the head of the Justice Department. He was selected by President Barack Obama to fill the vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Despite the fact that Garland was a conservative and a perfectly appropriate candidate, the Republican Senate majority refused to hold a hearing or vote on his nomination. Later President Donald Trump choose Republican Neil Gorsuch to the vacant seat.
In January 2021 President Joe Biden nominated Garland as attorney general. Politically he is considered be a judicial moderate and a centrist. Garland has the reputation as being “brilliant” but he is also known for keeping things close to the vest. He has stated that he is committed to holding all January 6th perpetrators accountable, but time is running out. The Committee must finish up by Jan. 3, 2023, when Republicans could take the House and shut things down.
“No person is above the law in this country,”
says Garland. “I can’t say it any more
clearly than that. There is nothing in the
principles of prosecution and any other
factors which prevent us from
investigating anyone – anyone – who is
criminally responsible for an attempt to
undo a democratic election.”
