This week Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris chose Tim Walz as her running mate. Oddly while Walz has served as The Governor of Minnesota for the past 16 years, most Americans must get to know him before they decide to give him their vote.
“I am proud to announce that I’ve
asked Tim Walz to be my running mate,”
Harris posted on X Aug. 6. “As a governor,
a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s
delivered for working families like his.
It’s great to have him on the team.
Now let’s get to work.”
Right now Trump and and Harris are running neck and neck in the battleground states. Harris has taken a slight national lead over Trump according to a new NPR/PBS News/Marist Poll. While Harris and her new partner agree on many large scale issues, it will be the “small town values” of Walz which will bring in the many dissatisfied moderate Republican voters over to his side.
Donald Trump’s selection of JD Vance at the 2024 Republican convention added excitement to the race, but it may not have been the right choice according to The Economic Times. The Guardian points out that Vance has a tendency to adopt the policies of others when it is advantageous to do so. And while he is not a convicted felon like Trump, he is almost as good at lying, so maybe they do make a good pair. Politico Magazine offers 55 Things to Know About JD Vance if you aren’t familiar with Vance’s controversial nature.
In less than eighty days we will be asked to make our choices. With President Joe Biden stepping aside, there is a fresh new enthusiasm for the new Democratic ticket. The 2024 Democratic platform is out in the open and will be lauded at their convention this coming week. Donald Trump seems to be at the head of the Republican Party this time around. The most important yet least publicized issue of this election is the Republican connection to Project 2025. Trump claims he knows nothing about this online document, but he is not to be believed. CNN reports that at least 140 people who have worked for Trump had a hand in the development of this far right playbook. This list includes Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff, and longtime adviser Stephen Miller. It really isn’t clear if this “secret agenda” can be kept under wraps for much longer.
UPDATE – PBS reports that the publication of The Dawn’s Early Light about Project 2025 is now postponed until after the November Election. Kevin Roberts, the head of the far-right Heritage Foundation, is the author and JD Vance wrote the forward.

Mars is very strong in the Dayology Signatures of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. It rules the INNER SELF of Harris and the OUTER SELF of Tim Walz. It gives their relationship a shot in the arm that could win the election for them. Also their Sun Signs, Libra and Aries, are on opposite sides on the zodiac wheel, making them a dynamic pair in regard to getting things done. Walz was Kamala’s pick based upon a one-to-one interview and their shared social values. They appear to really enjoy each other’s company when they are making appearances together.
The second pair composed of Donald Trump and JD Vance has no planetary rulers in common. This means that they very unalike, despite the fact that they speak the same catch words and political slogans. Trump is a demagogue and JD Vance is an exploiter. It is no exaggeration to say that both figures are in this race for what they can get out of it. Trump put Vance on the ticket on the recommendation of his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. It simply didn’t matter that at one time Vance was a tremendously bitter critic of Donald Trump.
