Donald Trump is as mad as a hornet at an Episcopal bishop after she made a direct appeal to him during a public prayer service. While sitting in the first pew he was addressed by Rev Mariann Budde to reconsider his policies regarding a number of populations facing harsh treatment.
Referencing Trump’s stated belief that he was saved by God from assassination so that he could runs as the Christian Nationalist candidate for President, Budde said, “You have felt the providential hand of a loving God. In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now.” Many who appear most endangered by Trump’s latest deportment orders are the families of hardworking immigrants, the majority of which Budde says are not criminals, but “people who pay taxes, and are good neighbors.”
As Trump left church he was asked what he thought of the Inaugural Prayer Service, to which he replied “She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart.” He added “She and her church owe the public an apology!” That evening Budd was asked by the press if she would apologize to the American people to which she stated “I am not going to apologize for asking for mercy for others.”
Mariann Budde has held the position of the Bishop of Washington since November 2011. She serves as spiritual leader for 86 Episcopal congregations and ten Episcopal schools in the District of Columbia and four Maryland counties. She is the first female to hold this position and she is supported in her duties by her husband Paul. Together they have two adult sons and one grandchild. While it is not a requirement of her position, she is extremely out-spoken.
Later In an interview with the the Associated Press, Budd asserted “I think it’s all of us, you know. I think it’s not about me. It’s about the kind of country we are called to be. And that’s what I did my best to try and speak to, to present an alternative to the culture of contempt, and to say that we can bring multiple perspectives into a common space and do so with dignity and respect. … the culture of contempt is threatening to destroy us.”
There might just be some history between Donald Trump and Mariann Budde. Time Magazine reports that in May of 2020 Budd criticized Trump when he ordered racial justice protestors to be forcibly removed from the Lafayette Park Demonstrations and then again from the courtyard of St. John’s Church so that he could deliberately pose for a publicity photo with the Bible. By the way Trump declares the Bible as his favorite book but is unable to share a single verse.

Donald Trump was born on a Friday in the zodiac sign of Gemini. Venus is the ruler of his INNER SELF and Mercury governs his OUTER SELF. His life is definite proof that all those born on Friday do not live up to the positive side of it’s Venus ruler. While he has always been somewhat of a wastrel, Trump’s heart is turning colder by day by day. And the shadowy side of Gemini is obviously becoming Trump’s dominant persona during this second Presidential term.
Mariann Budde was born on a Thursday in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius. Thursday is the ruler of her INNER and OUTER Selves. Individuals born with the #57 THU SAG Dayology Signature have qualms about the righteousness of their self expression. And even those who disagree with these Jupiterian souls have to admit that they do have “guts.” Right or wrong, those ruled doubly by Jupiter are ready to stand by their personal decisions with courage and conviction.
Obviously we have two very different types here. One has stated that he does not feel the need for forgiveness because he is never wrong. The other is always ready to forgive but only when the sinner is repentant. The INNER SELVES of these two individuals, indicated by being born on Friday and Thursday, could work together if Trump wasn’t so profoundly intent on taking the low road. Their OUTER SELVES, represented the opposite signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, tend to quarrel due to the natures of their planetary rulers. Mercury, ruler of Gemini, is quick thinking and ready for the next move while Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, looks far in advance to the outcomes of any ongoing affairs. These two individuals, and those who follow each of them, clearly do not see eye to eye as to making plans for the future and carrying them out.
Lets clarify things, opposites in astrology can work together, just as people holding opposing views can cooperate, but it takes work to find the points upon which they can agree. Donald Trump once operated by what is termed transactional politics. He would give up something he valued to get something he desired even more. Now that he once again has the power of the presidency plus a plan for world domination, he is headed toward becoming a dictator. His snarling comments about the Bishop of Washington D.C. show no human compassion.
