It’s no secret that while astrology employs astronomy and mathematics in its preparation, it is most definitely NOT one of the physical or hard sciences. And still very oddly astrology is repudiated by the scientific community as a valuable contribution to humankind.
One reason for these pronouncements, censures and rejections is that the critics themselves have not experienced the deeper levels of astrology where the meaning is found. Also much of what they assert is simply their own opinion concerning superficial media presentations. Another cause is that many of those who claim to be astrologers have an extremely limited view of their roles. They give the impression that their primary work is character delineation or event prediction, both of which are imperfect arts due to fact that all humans have free will.
The true role of astrologers is to assist people in relating to the ever changing rhythms of the cosmos. If Astrology was viewed as a way to find our place within the whole, there might be new issues for us to consider and we would be released from the old “validity” debate. The further dimensions of universal spirituality are absolutely unmeasurable at this time, but they may be quite accessible in the future. In the meantime we can push Astrology to function as an mirror revealing to each of us the physio-spiritual beings that we are essentially are.
