Fortune Telling comes in all sorts of packages. Some are a bit scary and others are lots of fun. Basil Ivan Rakoczi, describes one of these less-scary practices in his “out of print” book Foreseeing the Future. He says that in olden days gypsies carried a set of cards with numbers inscribed upon them. And perched on their shoulders were two doves. “For a small coin the gypsy will take one of these birds on her finger and let it peck out a card from the box and this is said to represent your lucky card for the day.” It isn’t revealed if this day is the current day of the week or the day of one’s birth. These messages represent the fortunes foretold.

Your lucky day is Sunday. A day for action, ambition an attainment. Face urgent problems on this day, give the rest of time to play. Documents you must not sign, give the day to cakes, love and wine. Your lucky number is one and your planet is the Sun.

Your lucky day is Monday. A day to plan, to plot and scheme, but no action take. Morning laughter. Evening tears. Kiss before too late. Don’t take “no” for an answer. After midnight luck changes. Your lucky number is two and your planet is the Moon.

Your lucky day is Tuesday. A sign for money or for love. Make your choices as you will. Lover’s quarrels soon will heal. You are talented, versatile and a fighter, but also love pleasure. Your lucky number is three and your planet is Mars.

Your lucky day is Wednesday. Work, play, a few tears along the way. No risks give long years. Hard tasks to finish. A journey suggested. Make plans carefully. Be trustworthy, honesty pays. Your lucky number is four and your planet is Mercury.

Your lucky day is Thursday. Lucky for the many, unlucky for the few. Give away money, your love comes to you. Be enthusiastic. Enjoy the unexpected. You are sure to win. Your lucky number is five and your planet is Jupiter.

Your lucky day is Friday. Not unlucky as some declare, but not a day for games of chance. Of jealously you must beware, passion breaks a soldier’s lance. Success for those with new ideas. A day for friendship and leisure is suggested. Courtship leads to marriage. Your lucky number is six and your planet is Venus.

Your lucky day is Saturday. For hints and hunches, pricks and punches. Make the best of it! Study, art, meditation and rest are indicated. Do not let introspection lead to morbidity. Trust the one you love. Your lucky number is seven and your planet is Saturn.
There are at least two ways to utilize this method of fortune telling. You can write out these daily messages onto index cards, turn them face down and, if you don’t happen to have a trained bird, simply select a card. My preference is to purposefully read the card of the actual day of the week. I’ve made notes as to how I feel and what I plan to do on each day of the week. Over time I have discovered definite patterns regarding how I feel on the different days of the week. There might be difference in our individual reception of the daily energies based up our birth charts. I have found a great wisdom within the poetic language of these fortune telling cards.
The author, Basil Rakoczi, was a very interesting person. Not only was he a talented British artist, he also wrote and illustrated The Painted Caravan, A Penetration Into the Secrets of Tarot Cards. In his biography, it is said that his parents were married in a gypsy rite and that his father was Hungarian by birth. So he may have been familiar with the innermost secrets of the gypsies. NOTE -Rakoczi’s birthdate is found in Dayology Signature #03 of the Dayology Photo Album.
