Now that Michele Obama is just an American citizen, she isn’t viewing life as she did as U.S. First Lady. According to her newest bookc dispatching her White House duties was apparently more difficult than most of us could imagine. She got through it and now is spilling the beans.

“A lot of people don’t remember the first black family in the White House, the journey there wasn’t smooth,” she explains. “There were people who tried to turn us into others, and so we had to overcome a lot of that and so much was read into gestures we would make, like a fist bump was turned into a terrorist fist jab.” Michelle was refering to the 2008 incident when a Fox News anchor, E.D. Hill, questioned whether this highly spirited gesture made between Barack and his wife was actually a secret signal to enemies of the state.
At the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. Michele Obama spoke to the decisions she made regarding her speech and appearance for the eight years that her family resided in the White House. She could not risk having her intentions misinterpreted as they had been during Barak’s presidential campaign. After stating “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country — and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change,” she was portrayed by the press as an angry black woman. After that she played it safer with her remarks. She realized that she was speaking to many Americans who could not immediately share her cultural experiences and historical perceptions.
Much of her personal discontent began in the Spring of 2011 when Donald Trump was considering a run for the presidency and introduced the idea that the current President, Barak Obama, was not a U.S. citizen and therefore was ineligible to hold office. Obama responded by releasing his Hawaiian birth certificate on two occasions: a shorter version in 2008 and a more detailed one in 2011. What grew into the “the birther conspiracy” clearly began as a smear campaign. In A Promised Land, the 2020 memoir, of Barak Obama, he wrote “It was as if my very presence in the White House had triggered a deep-seated panic, a sense that the natural order had been disrupted.” No other First Family was forced to deal with these issues.

Now as a private citizen Michelle Obama is free to be herself. She can say what she wants and appear as she pleases. For her recent book signings she has showed up with a number of smart outfits and popular hair do’s which would never have been an option in the White House. Nor could she have spoken openly regarding the criticism that most black women face for their “ethnic” fashion choices. “We deal with it – Obama said. “That’s the African American experience!”
Pondering the wiespread predujices that American citizens of color face every day, we remind our readers that last month New Jersey Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman introduced the CROWN Act in 2021 which prohibits discrimination against women with “natural hairstyles” participating in federally assisted programs, housing programs, public accommodations, and employment. In December 2022 the entire House of Representatives (435) passed the bill, but the 100 members of the Senate would not allow these women to be “themselves.”
In her latest book Michele confirms that she is viewing life differently because she is changing. She admits in the White House that she made it hard for her daughters by threatening them that their parents would replicate on their middle-aged bodies any tatoos or piercings that their daughters attempted on their own. She also promised that she and Barack would exhibit these “body alterations” on Tick Tock. Now she views these fairly harmless practices as expressions of individuality but she hasn’t revealed if she would ever chose one for herself.

Michelle Obama was born on a Friday and in the zodiac sign of Capricorn. Venus is a ruler of her INNER SELF and Saturn governs her OUTER SELF. Those born with the #70 FRI CAP Dayology Signature tend to be good-hearted but hard working in character. Sometimes they may appear more than a bit judgmental due to terribly high standards to which they hold themselves.
It is part of the character of VENUS/SATURN individuals to want to be strong and correct. They don’t want to be viewed as wrong or weak, especially if that happens to be the case. They may consequently display rigid behavioes or level strong pronouncements if they feel that they are not able to conform to standards and expectations. They may withhold their personal thoughts and intimate feelings if they feel that these communications will be poorly received.
In a recent interview with Robin Roberts, Michele explains that Barak sees her as “a glass half” full type of person, whereas he thinks he is more optimistic. And he is quite perceptive because Capricorns are inclined to see the darker side of life usually as something that holds them down. They view life as a struggle regardless of their past successes. Michelle explains that she has learned that negativity cannot be transformed with more negativity, which is why she stated “WHEN THEY GO LOW, WE GO HIGH.” These days with so many troubles, she is telling people to focus on their one personal power and let “that” get them through. It has worked for her.
Oddly while Michele Obama is hard on herself, she is remembered as quite outstanding. For wearing a variety of new designers for her big events Michelle was pronounced a fashion icon by Vogue Magazine. And through her seven social initiatives, she has become an advocate for healthy families, service members and their families, higher education, and international adolescent girls education. She was named as Barbara Walters‘ Most Fascinating Person of 2009 and for several consecutive years she was voted a most admired woman in the U.S. Gallup polls.
It is Michelle Obama’s life purpose to fulfill her social roles (VENUS) without compromising her stern personal values (SATURN). She appears to have been a caring and upright individual from her beginnings. Then she strove to graduate cum laude from Princeton University in 1985 and earn her degree from Harvard Law School in 1988. After joining the prestigious Chicago law firm, Sidney & Austin, she met and fell in love with her future mate, a U.S. president to be.
