Mr. and Mrs. Maduro

Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were flown this weekend from Caracas, Venezuela to New York City where they are held under federal custody and awaiting arraignment on charges related to large‑scale drug‑trafficking and the planned use of military‑grade weapons.

It is difficult to imagine how a married couple who were voted democratically into the highest offices of a foreign country came to be indicted by the Southern District of New York. Yet that is precisely what has unfolded: a sitting president and his politically seasoned wife, were captured and taken by the U.S. military. They were captured in a coordinated operation that unfolded with startling speed. Reports indicate that the Maduros offered no resistance. The pair appeared stunned but composed as they were escorted from the compound where they had been staying. There were no attempts to flee, negotiate, or invoke presidential authority — only a rigid, formal stillness, as though they sensed the political machinery around them had collapsed.

Approximately ten hours later, the aircraft transporting the Maduros touched down at Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York, where the pair were transferred into federal custody. By this time President Trump had addressed the nation, presenting the operation as a lawful response to federal indictments and emphasizing the government’s responsibility to act when individuals under U.S. charges are located abroad. He spoke at length about the precision and speed of the military units involved, highlighting their performance as evidence of the nation’s readiness and resolve. He assured the public that the action was not an act of aggression against a sovereign state, but just the targeted apprehension of individuals under federal indictment.

The president described the capture of the Maduros as the execution of an existing legal mandate, underscoring that the proceedings ahead would follow established judicial process. He added that the U.S. Government would oversee future elections and the operation of the oil fields, framing these as temporary measures to stabilize the country during the transition. His remarks emphasized continuity, security, and administrative control. As for the Maduros, their immediate future rests within the federal judicial system, where they will move through the full sequence of proceedings, from arraignment to trial and any subsequent determinations.

Nicolás Maduro was born on a Friday in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius. His INNER SELF is ruled by Venus and Jupiter governs his OUTER SELF. This specific combination of energies creates an Idealistic individual who views life as an adventure. He seems ready for the next thing that comes along though he may find that he isn’t always prepared for what he faces.

Cilia Flores was born on a Monday in the zodiac sign of Libra. Her INNER SELF is ruled by the Moon and Venus governs her OUTER SELF. She is a person who is socially inclined and operates primarily through her feelings. Her Moon’s natal placement in Aquarius gives her a good social conscience and a bit of rebelliousness. This influence is clearly what led her into politics.

Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores met in the 1990s, when both were politically active in the movement to support Hugo Chávez after his failed 1992 coup attempt. Their paths crossed as Cilia Flores was part of the legal team that worked to secure Chávez’s release from prison and Maduro was a young union organizer. Over the next two decades they rose through the Chavista movement together. She became President of the National Assembly and he became Foreign Minister, then Vice President, then President. She has served for 13 years as First Lady and a powerful political strategist. Their partnership was political long before it was romantic.

The two married in 2013, shortly before Maduro assumed the presidency. Their union was viewed as the formalization of a long‑standing political partnership and a consolidation of power within the Chavista movement. Maduro was seen as a leader who rose from the working class, having been a bus driver, but his career was marred by disputed elections and international criticism. As president, he built international relationships through oil‑financed assistance programs, but at the same time he became known as a dictator with no intentions of surrendering to internal or external opposition. Most recently the U.S. government accused him of participating in drug trafficking networks and narco‑terrorism conspiracies, for which he is now accountable.

The basic motivations shown by the Dayology signatures of this pair can be viewed as positive, but the surrounding circumstances of their environment may have been too treacherous for these two personalities to actually be themselves, and their true natures became compromised. One thing all Dayologists learn is that each of the seven Day of the Week energies and the twelve Sun Signs energies can manifest fully through its nature, or it can operate in a limited manner due to any number of circumstances. Unfortunately the latter is often the case, but there are always situations in our lives providing us opportunities to be ever more aware.

The key to understanding the personal nature of Nicolás Maduro is recognizing that he was born on a CUSP or a day when the Sun left one zodiac sign and enters another. The exact placement of the Sun is determined by the birth time of the individual when erecting a natal chart. Maduro’s birth time is unknown so all we can say is that he has personal issues regarding the planetary rulers of both Scorpio and Sagittarius, which are Mars and Jupiter – force and expansion. This duality is reflected in the highly eventful yet confusing circumstances of his life.

Further study of the two Dayology Signatures reveals that this pair are united by the Venus energy of her OUTER SELF and his INNER SELF. This relationship dynamic indicates that it is her OUTER attention to his INNER motivations that makes her valuable to him. When their individual Venus placements in their personal horoscopes are compared, it is found that her Virgo Venus love nature is simpler and clearer, where as his Scorpio Venus is far more complex in nature. Still the connection between his INNER Venus and her OUTER Venus is an obvious bond.

It is the simple nature of Dayology and the focus on the DAY OF THE WEEK energies that allows us to catch on to the underlying energies that brought and held this couple together. As to what experiences they will be facing in the future, we do not know, but we wish them strength.
